nigella, sesame and honey, the seed the grandmothers trusted for everything
the blessed seed

black cumin, ground with black sesame and softened in raw honey. a quarter-teaspoon in the morning, taken in rhythm with the moon.

what you need

  • 3 tsp black cumin (nigella sativa), about 9 g
  • 4 tsp black sesame, about 12 g
  • raw honey, 2–3 tbsp (30–45 g), to a soft paste

the ritual

  1. dry-roast the seeds on low heat, 2–3 minutes, until fragrant, never browned.
  2. let them cool, then grind (mortar or mill, coarse to fine).
  3. fold in the honey until it becomes a soft paste.
